The numbers divers actually write down
Everything a paper logbook has a box for, and a few things it does not, captured in the order a guide would say them out loud.
Depth and time
Maximum and average depth, duration in minutes, and the actual in and out times of the dive.
Water and visibility
Temperature, visibility in metres, salt or fresh, and how the current ran - none, light, moderate or strong.
Weather and sea state
Sunny, cloudy, rainy or windy, with wave height from calm to high. The reason last Tuesday was a short dive stays on the record.
Tank and gas
Aluminium 63, 80 or 100, steel 10, 12 or 15 litre, and the gas breathed. Nitrox dives are logged as nitrox dives.
The site that was actually dived
Plans change on the water. The log records the site the group really went to, picked from your own list of dive sites.

The turtle, the thermocline, the lost fin. The line the diver will actually reread is the one the guide wrote by hand.
How it actually works

The log can be corrected afterwards and the shared page updates with it. The email only goes out once, so fixing a typo does not send twenty divers a second message.
